Johnson Egu Chukwu is an Initiator/Founder of Cowry Asset Management Limited. Mr. Chukwu is a Pioneer General Manager/Chief Executive Officer of Guardian Express Trust Limited (now Spring Capital) – a subsidiary of Guardian Express Bank Plc (now Spring Bank Plc). He is a Pioneer Chief Financial Officer of Guardian Express Bank Plc.

He is a Facilitator of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Financial Institutions Training Centre (FITC. He is a Media Commentator on the Capital Market, banking industry and general economic issues. He served as Deputy General Manager and Group Executive of Operations at Spring Bank Plc. He supervised at various times functions as Structured/Corporate Finance, Treasury, Risk Management, Operations, Human Capital Management, Information technology and Facilities management at Guardian Express Bank Plc. He championed the setting up of Guardian Express Bank’s Accounting systems, processes and Management/Financial reporting systems. He served as Deputy Financial Controller of Diamond Bank Plc. He worked in Credit and Marketing (Trade Finance), Financial Control, Treasury Operations and Branch Operations at 32 | P a g e Access Bank Plc (formerly Intercontinental Bank Plc). He has been the Chairman of SA Insurance Plc since April 8, 2016. He serves as the Director of Standard Alliance Life Assurance Limited. He is a Fellow of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Taxation. He is an Alumnus of Lagos Business School (Pan African University). He Attended courses at IESE Business School (University of Navarra) Barcelona, Spain and Wharton Business School (University of Pennsylvania) Philadelphia, USA. He is a 1992 alumnus of the University of Lagos with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
